Introducción:
La producción lechera es uno de los sectores que integra el proceso de intensificación productiva que desarrolla el agro uruguayo en los últimos años. Esta se concentra especialmente
en tres departamentos: Colonia, San José y Florida. La alimentación animal está basada principalmente en pasturas mejoradas cosechadas directamente por los animales la cual es
complementada por el suministro de granos y reservas forrajeras de origen predial o extra-predial. Al igual que en las otras actividades agropecuarias que atraviesan un proceso de
intensificación surgen interrogantes sobre los impactos ambientales en suelo, agua y atmosfera. No existen antecedentes de evaluaciones objetivas, cuantitativas, del impacto en la calidad de los suelos involucrados en esta actividad. El objetivo central del proyecto de investigación se centró en conocer cuál es el estado
actual de la calidad de los suelos en las principales áreas de producción lechera. Este proyecto de investigación generó información que fue presentada y publicada en diferentes eventos (Morón,2009; Morón et al 2006, 2008a, 2008b, 2010). En el presente trabajo se presentan los promedios y distribuciones de carbono orgánico (C org) y nitrógeno (N) en el suelo así como sus respectivos valores de referencia para cada tipo de suelo involucrado. |

ABSTRACT - Aqueous pulp extracts of 8 mandarin cultivars produced in Uruguay, including four commercial lines and four of their crosslinks under development, were characterized through untargeted 1H NMR-based metabolomics. The spectral features identified through this approach proved the uniqueness of each mandarin metabolome. The stability of the chemical make-up through different harvests, the evolution of the metabolome towards full fruit maturity, and the character transference from parents to their hybrids were evaluated using multivariate analysis, with the 1H NMR signals of sugars and tricarboxylic acids being the most relevant ones. The relationship between sugar sweetness power and citric acid content found in each variety correlated well with independent consumer preference tests of the mandarin cultivars under investigation. Since it is based on readily measurable chemical parameters, this chemometric model could be employed to reduce the number of samples presented to sensory panels during the early and time-consuming selection stages of new mandarin cultivars.
